Help Keep Your Kids Focused!

Henry needed three things: a task chart to keep him remember things, a calming key ring that has two different tactile sensory tools (pipe cleaners and beads) to help with his anxiety, and a stress ball to squeeze to help him remember when to stay still.

Here's a Quick & Easy Calming Key Ring Idea!

Pick up a pack of key rings, some pipe cleaners, and some beads. I can usually find a bunch at the Dollar Tree! Twist the pipe cleaners (two or three strands of different colors) into the key ring so they don't fall out and string the colored beads onto the pipe cleaners. This tactile and sensory fidget can help children with tactile, sensory needs (the soft feel of the pipe cleaners and moving the beads up and down or around and around) and calming anxiety. The repetitive movement of twisting the beads can help focus the mind and calm anxiety, similar to using a calm strip! Let your little one choose the colors and help create their own calming key ring!

Activity Pages!

A helpful tip. - the one shown is one created for a child who loved goats and tennis, so the two were combined so Henry is the Greatest of All Time or the G.O.A.T.!! Add in your own sayings to keep your child motivated!

A useful and helpful way to help kids stay focused and complete tasks is by creating a task chart and sharing it with them. Task charts are not chore charts, but are to help keep your child focused!

Just as Henry completed tasks before and during school that helped him stay focused, creating a chart for your kids will ensure they are ready to conquer their day!

To the left is an example of what your task chart can look like. Watch the video (coming soon) to see how to use it!
